As a rookie gambler, need help w/ a few things :

#1 ) What's the best way for money management when it comes to the following ... Let's say you're betting $100 / unit. On a -110 line, do you bet $110 to win $100 or stay consistent at the $100 no matter what play?

#2 ) How much juice is too much juice ... This question is mainly coming from my -110 to -115 football experience, but in MLB, the juice skyrockets. When it's too much, do you just lay-off, or can you still find value in it?

As to your first question, most will lay 110/100 although there is no hard and fast rule. If you are more comfortable just laying the 100, then by all means do so.

As to your second question, many in baseball draw the line at -130, although once again, not a hard and fast rule. Only lay what you feel comfortable with and pass on anything above.

Hi Newman

I agree with Ted,
Some folks seem to not realize that it is the winner who pays the VIG. not the loser.

as far as the MLB moneyline plays
some of my most successful players parlay 2 teams that are more than
-140 for 2 times more than their average straight play.

in other words
if you split 2 -150 plays you'll lose 50,
if you lose them both you're down 300
if you win them both you're up 200*

if you parlay these 2 favorites for 200, and they both hit
which is what you wanted anyway, you'll collect 355

if 200 is not in your bankroll then 100 would pay 177

or parlay them for 113* and collect the 200 you wanted to win in the 1st place.

either way you always have 3 choices,

take the fav in a game,

take the dog in the Game,

OR LEAVE THE GAME ALONE!

Good luck and Stay Smart!

oldmanTED is right here. There are no rules to play by but more important is that you play smart and what is comfortable. GL SMOKE
